European deli in Reading applies to sell alcohol

The  Euro Deli at 185 Oxford Road currently sells fresh and cooked meats, fruit and vegetables and cakes and sweets to passing customers.

Its offer is focused on cuisine from eastern Europe, with the store’s Facebook page declaring that it specialises in Lithuanian, Latvian, Russian, Polish and Ukrainian food.

Now, store manager Sandra Viskontiene has applied to sell alcohol from 9am to 11pm each day.

The Local Democracy Reporting Service attempted to contact people at the store to get an idea of what type of alcohol it hopes to serve.
